To me it looks like something out of China if that image is anything to go by.

You have to think like an American and those shapes appeal to them at the moment. Oh, and while the design team at JLR find the Toyota renderings a hoot, the reliability and warranty teams find them painful for another reason ;-)

Well I think the CH-R is uglier than the new Rav-4 but if that's what the new one is going to look like, I'm shopping elsewhere!
'Orrible plastic stuck on bits, great for hiding road dirt and corrosion!

reading the comments on the link, the rendering is actually nothing to do with Toyota in fact, but is someones idea of what they would like?

These spy photos suggest that they haven't got the grill entirely wrong and it is, apparently, derived from the concept that Charlie linked to ... The grill looks as though it comes from a Ford Kuga - just installed the other way up. And, apart from its being copy-Ford, I don't dislike that - I've always thought that the front end of the 4.3 looks too tame. I'm not at all keen on the squared wheel arches (unless Toyota plan on fitting square wheels). But I guess that we will really need to wait and see what it looks like in the flesh. It sounded to me that the engines are likely to be exactly the same as now ... ?

Ha ha - " autonomous emergency breaking" what a disaster, sack the proof reader!
Who wants emergency breaking? Good for the scrap yard though!

Calling disrepute on that is like saying all Jap cars are c rap like they were in the 70S ..

'Orrible plastic stuck on bits, great for hiding road dirt and corrosion! Quite like both of them so best keep quite then 😉 both cars are bold in styling...Toyota can’t win, dull yet reliable and now striking and hopefully reliable .
