Looks like another Tier has been created for you guys in London and the South East and Scotland is closed to visitors after Boxing Day in and out. I’m a bit worried about this new strain but talking to my wife she was saying it happens every year sometimes it can become weaker and other times stronger. I hope the current vaccine is enough to tackle the new mutation too. Keep safe guys

Got a mesage last night that the Scottish Govt NHS app detected I'd been in contact with someone who'd been tested positive for virus, so I need to isolate. Number of days to isolate for..... guess? -3 Yep - -3 days. The contact was on 4th December, so I'd already served my isolation period. Checking my movements (outside), on Maps, I could see I'd collected surplus food from 3 supermarkets and delivered to 1 homeless hostel; one food poverty group; and flowers to a nursing home. No idea who/where I was near as they won't tell you that. Might try to get a test just in case. You probably should - in the, maybe unlikely, event that you are now / have been an asymptomatic spreader ... all the best! (and it's good to know that the app 'works' after a fashion) attempted to book a test...no symptoms so no test.. The local drive through test centre was vacant; manned by 12 guys; and doing nothing. wtf

Can anyone explain to me why, given the UK has squillions of vaccine, they haven't deployed the armed forces who, surprisingly ae quite good at emergency logistics, to administer the vaccine?
Or am I paying taxes for Boris's pals to get contracts.

Can we arrange a schedule at the border to block the roads for anyone not carrying gifts to be handed over at the customs point?

To be honest, i do not think there is a big difference, as only very few places are closed in addition. Still no word about schools and you still need to go to work. The tier 4 was added a few days after the previous tier (tier 3 was put on us on Wednesday ), so no one really knows if it is effective. Everyone Panic stations!

the wife’s just come home from work fuming that the local Morrison’s is out of milk and other essential items. Looks like people are going crazy again with stocking up. Wonder how long before the toilet rolls start running out.

She did have a bit of a runny nose and we decided to book her a test. When we got there it was empty no one there and I counted 21 people. We were there for about 35 minutes and only 1 other car came in after us.

If there is testing capacity, why not use it to identify possible a-symptomatic (think that means not having symptoms) carriers.

I went from home (Scotland) to Gretna (Scotland) last Thursday. In order to do so, I went through England as that is the best route. I wonder if there will be any check points at all? There are around 10 different road crossing points within 20 miles.

Or am I paying taxes for Boris's pals to get contracts. Very limited amounts of vaccines until the Oxford Astro Zeneca one is approved. I know they have to ensure the vaccines are safe but at some point with covid mutating caution must be thrown to the wind ? Is there a possibility it will come to late for a lot of folk ?

So, what can you do in a lockdown? Develope new theories... I read and watched numerous interviews, and all are saying that the so called new strain has been known about from about September, and the latest noise is a backfire on Boris using it as an excuse to cancel the 5 families together thingie, and France sees it as an opportunity to get back at the UK for leaving the EU. Going into the shelter now...

France is only one of about 40 countries that have restricted movement to and from the uk, a large proportion of them are not eu members, France is getting the flack becouse it happends to be the primary link for freight.
