We've just had an email at work , our CEO has had a letter from the government. Construction , supply chain & manufacturing must continue - nationally , it's been put as essential. In the safest way etc. We've had more or less the same. Got an essential workers pass now too show if stopped to/from work. Must say i'm please we remain open this time.

This video is now several months old and is primarily aimed at the U.S.A. but in-spite of that it's still interesting I think.

Beginning nine days of self isolating after arriving at work and the app going off. No symptoms whatsoever but in a workforce of a hundred , thirty are off , either having tested positive or self isolating.

Good luck Jase, I'm in a bubble with an elderly neighbour who has just returned from hospital where she was exposed to someone who tested positive - so I'm in isolation until 5th February.

Thanks Andy, you're spot on, particularly about the "whim" bit. Even NHS staff are not consistence about what the rules actually mean. I guess I'd struggle if I was under the pressures that they are.
As an addendum to the above, the elderly neighbour that I referred to in my original post was phoned by her GP this morning whilst I was in her house. The GP was under the impression that she would only need to isolate until tomorrow whereas the hospital said 5th February. We are both going to use the 5th February date as being the most prudent course. Perhaps I should admit that she will be 100 in November - but I wouldn't play cards with her for money!
