Guys, what are your thoughts on this new 3 tier lockdown the government are considering bringing in. From what I’ve just read in Liverpool pubs,, Casinos, bookies bars and gyms are expected to be closed possibly for up to 6 months, whilst restaurants, schools and universities will remain open.
As an example my daughters school closed down her year group along with another due to a teacher being positive and another few self isolating. To me I think the super spreaders is probably children. I’m not saying schools should close but I would’ve thought more stricter measures in schools and uni would be a better option rather than killing the economy. Ha sit even been thought out by the government? From what I can make out are the government even listening to SAGE?

There wouldn’t be a need for any lockdown if people used their heads for a bit. I’m sick of hearing snowflakes saying they’re confused. You don’t need government advice, wear a mask when you mix and 10pm throwing out time means clear off home not stand outside in an even closer crowd without a mask. Don’t have a house full of visitors. Wash your hands frequently and leave a space from the next person when out talking your mask for a walk.

Your spot on. The amount of people you see without a mask is ridiculous now. I appreciate some people can’t but I think there’s a lot that can’t be bothered. On sky news this morning in London they were showing a load of people playing cricket after 10pm when the pubs closed so that clearly doesn’t help either. No social distancing or masks think everyone of them who deliberately flout the rules should be fined. The reason I mentioned confusion is I don’t think closing places is the answer like you said it’s common sense. Let’s hope more people use it and things are back to normal sooner rather than later. I carry a box of masks in the car now and dispose of one after single use. The ones that I really find annoying are the ones wearing one but then it’s hanging off their chin.

When you say the amount of people you see without a mask, do you mean where it is mandated (in shops typically)? or just generally out and about? I wear one in shops - so close proximity to others, but I don't when outside normally, so like when walking from the car to a shop. And put the mask on as I enter. Don't know about pubs and the like as didn't go to them before all this anyway.

As an outsider looking in I cringe at how the UK has handled or should I more accurately say mishandled this situation from the very start?
They were far too late in starting to tackle the virus and they haven't improved even with the knowledge they could have obtained from other
countries. Mind you they do have the disadvantage as there are an awfully large amount of selfish moronic idiots walking around over there.

As an example when we went shopping last week there were more people without masks than with. Same as in schoools when parents are picking up kids there’s no distancing and minimal mask wearing. My kids are at different schools and it’s the same at all of them. Oh well maybe Christmas time we’ll be encouraged again to go out and eat more with even bigger discounts to see the new year in. 😬🙄😷😷

In Lanarkshire, we're in a more constrained lockdown. No pubs/restaurants etc. Cafes open 6am-6pm. Or you can gather outside a takeaway without distancing or masks....duh. As Ancs said, its easy. Wear a mask any time near others.....shops; shopping centres; supermarkets etc. But everyone needs to wear a mask as the masks we get contain our ownbreath but not filter the breath from others. So those who can't wear a mask should simply stay away/stay at home to protect others. It really is simple, but thwarted (found that word in a crossword) by eejits who think they are immune. And this isn't going away until we get a vaccine for it.

We walked to the church without a mask and when we got there, there was maybe 20-25 gathered. As we approached, we put the masks on throughout the entire service which was held outside ar a graveside. We were the only two that did. It seemed obvious to us but oblivious to the others.

Increasingly obvious oxymoron.
It can however be a refreshing change, when I've made space by stepping aside or waiting, that on a few occasion I've received a "thank you" and sometimes a smile as well.

I happy to wear a mask. It's starting to become a habit tbh. Wallet, phone, keys, mask.
I unhappy if they close the gyms, pools and workplace.

I do wonder at times whether we are awash with people that consider themselves "special" and therefore they think rules don't apply to them. The linked article, (which is, granted, a personal view of the author and not a scientific analysis) appeared in "Nature" a few weeks ago. A bit of national pride is healthy, but, if nothing else, the article does maybe have the potential to make some pause and think for a few moments. (Or maybe just dismiss it because you are "special")
