Since owning this black Rav Mrs P has said there has been a cigar like smell in the cabin mainly when she puts the heater on. I thought I had cured it when changing the cabin filter as the old one was absolutely bunged up with leaves and dirt, but she said this morning the smell has returned and seemed stronger again when the heater is on. So any ideas as to what it could be folks?

And also inspect for any residual debris lurking in there. Can you get a vacuum cleaner into the ducting?

Give Kev's desmellification method a go first and see what it's like after.

Yes....sometimes multi packs available cheaperly......shop aboot. Yes Kev good savings on multi buys but have just ordered the one for now to see how it goes as some of the reviews reckon the smells returned after a short while, so is this summat that;s gotta be done on a regular basis?? I take it that you have used this before Kev, did you have the same problem in your cabs?

That can also create various odours.

Well folks I put the aircon bomb in the Rav this morning and it smells nice and fresh now and Mrs P is happy for now :TU: BUT I now have the Malfunction indicator lamp showing up on the dash Mrs P then said it did cut out on her yesterday morning while waiting at some lights but started ok and was fine the rest of the day, when this morning while I was doing the cleanse it reached ten minutes exactly then just cut out. I started it again then noticed the orange engine light so switched off straight away. Looking on line it could be anything but a lot seems to be pointing towards the lambda sensors but looking at the two on top they look new, so once again folks any ideas what could be wrong now??
