Cheers Ash Fletchers now there's a name I haven't heard mentioned in years and haven't been there since the 80s I bet so not sure if they are still open Ash to be honest we tend to keep away from the city these days if we can help it No fuel comparison Ash but when we were out on Monday I was having a play with the monitor and I think it was saying our average was 59mpg but will have a better look when I get a chance, but if it is that's almost double what the Rav used to show at 30.2mpg which was slightly generous I believe, and the more modern ones are more accurate I believe?? The Hybrid Rav we had for two weeks Ash was great once Mrs P had got used to it, I can only talk from a passengers point of view but Mrs P liked it that much that she wanted an Hybrid with the automatic gearbox and was willing to PX her beloved 2004 Rav which has been her favourite car of all time, and so far she is really enjoying the little Yaris, even though it's the same size as the Rav more or less I grew up in Brum and ran a series of Minis in the '60's. Fletchers was a great place for things like switches and trim / trim clips. There was a rumour that they had a contract for clearing out the bins on the production lines at Longbridge and that they got most of their stock from there. There was little organisation of the bits they were selling which meant that you could get some real bargains if you knew exactly what you were looking at. There was another very useful place for car consumables at Moseley, just of the Alcester Road - but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was called

The good old days :TU: Same here Bob a member during the 80s.
Bought my MK2 Vitesse reg No WOV 101J, which was a partial rebuild including a full engine rebuild, in 83 went down to Cornwall in it for a week done over a thousand miles travelling about in it that week, weather was fantastic. Got back and started doing the bodywork ready for a respray which it had later in Triumph signal Red it looked brilliant. Then found out later that it was originally a convertible and someone had put the saloon top on so I managed to get all the parts needed to change it back to a convertible but then ran out of time and money to continue with it as we started to buy a house and start a family so sold it all to a local bloke who did convert it back and took me for a spin in it once he had and it was fantastic.
