hi all
my 4.2.5 is due to to be changed for a 4.5 AWD when i can find an excel or dynamic at the right price.
today i got a puncture on on of my front tyres and investigation found the culprit to be perishing, would you replace tyres on the front with a new pair or a cheap option part worn pair ? all tyres curently on the car are identical in age and type and wear.
the ideal would be someone who has a set of winter or std tyres ( with or without wheels ) stashed away from their days of 4.2 ownership, is there anyone ?? anyone gotm anything stashed away ?
obviously dont want to spend a fortune on a new set if i can get away with a cheaper option. the rav may or may not pass mot this november as last time it had some welding done to pass.

With reliable and safety in mind and just to tide you over, I would go new but cheap. Never been a lover of part worn tyres, to many risks, punctured, Sid wall damage , lumps bulges, age, etc.

Agree with Bob I wouldn’t use part worns . Get a budget set but nothing ultra cheap if your planning on selling the car. Few buyers appreciate the super cheap options. 👍👍

Not much choice out there for the budget tyres ☹️ Did look up a few of the cheap ones on eBay but don’t even come up on the tyre comparison sites 😮 Tyre review site…. www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/

How about a set of these: Kumho Solus 4S ? Kumo are the tyre that my local & trusted fitter sells as a 'budget' brand. At £80 the tyres above are offered at pretty much half price and the spec looks decent. And I couldn't find anything much cheaper that I'd want to run on. Just a thought ...

I had a set of those fitted to the wife's IQ and for the price they were a good choice.

keep getting drawn to these, and can sell the wheels afterwards am i mad ? linkThat's exactly one wheel ... right? You'd need at least a pair so that both ends of the axle have the same pattern of tyre. I'm probably missing something ...
