Agree with Paul, good bargaining points. It looks like the door has opened beyond the limit of the check-strap. I would say that WCVC are pretty decent guys. If you make the deal conditional on their dent guy putting right all the blemishes then they do a good job. Ours had a few dings and they sorted them satisfactorily. At the end of the day if it isn't sorted to your satisfaction then just walk away. A waste of time, I know, but buying any used car always has some degree of risk. Good points. The dents do put me off. Being an older model the road tax is £270 rather than £330 is in it's favour. There is something about these 3 door RAVs that I really like but I think I will hold out for a better example. I may end up doing something reckless like paying a lot of money for a really good one! I think WCVC will be the place I will go at some point! Just like we've done (3 times now!!).

They had a two tone Grey/silver 2004 one in when we had ours with only i think now 27k on the clock, that was going for just under 9k, but it went the same day we had ours, so they are out there still :TU:

Just like we've done (3 times now!!). Wow, I didn’t realise it was 3 times! Was it WCVC each time? No, the first was from Jemca, the second from an indie who sourced all his stock from Jemca and the current one from WCVC. They were all pricey though but had the usual Toyota reliability so never cost us anything other than routine consumables/servicing (apart from the bling that I always succumb to with these cars!😅).

Thanks. Do you always get the Serpentine belt changed? I’m not up to speed on this. Does it drive the water pump? I’ve looked it up and see what it’s for. is there a cambelt or is it a chain?

The petrol vvti is chain. The serpentine belt drives the alternator, water pump and air con compressor. It should be changed every 6 years and unless you can tell from the service history when it was last changed, best to have it done as part of the Toyota service that you should try to get in the deal. WCVC are pretty good on that score as they have a Toyota dealer in Honiton. I have only had a serpentine belt snap once and that was on our first '02 RAV at about 80k miles. Even though it was always serviced by our local Mr T, they missed it at 6 years hence it went awol at about 9 years old.

Forgot about that one. 😅
