My current thoughts really make no sense at all as I don’t need another car after the sale of my Lexus SC430 . I’ve been studying Auto trader and can feel a 3 door RAV4 calling me again 😎
Needs to be an inexpensive vehicle I can put my own stamp on , has to be an Auto 3 door and don’t mind if a NRG, XT3 or XT-R but only a NRG is likely to be cheap !
I’ve alway had a soft spot for the light blue and silver NRG but mindful of the possible gearbox issues and has no easy cruise control add on .
would like a more positive outcome of this Coronavirus before purchasing but do keep your eyes out for me guys 👍🏻

Will do. It's like an itch that doesn't quite go away and that you need to scratch once in a while.😉

Cheers guys . If it turns out to be a NRG will have to dig out the company name that rebuilds the gearbox ECU’s 🤔 the Blue and grey seats and carpets are an acquired taste but they are getting rare now and I might be able to squeeze it into a few cars shows if a nice example 😎

I will also keep em peeled Bob. What sort of mileage you looking at, obviously the lower the better but also more expensive so will high-ish mileage ones be considered?

Cheers Paul it’s the only one about at the moment but it’s retail price is around £1750, so see if it drops in the coming months . im in no rush But the pattern for RAV4’s is the opposite to my convertible just sold, convertible prices expensive in the summer & Rav4 prices expensive in the winter. So would to get one before autumn or next spring . Observations about mk2 models with 100k + on the clock ...no noticed wear on the interior seats or controls .....made them to last back then 👍🏻

The 4.2 to my mind especially so. I mean, ours is 16 years old now and it's just as tight as any newer car that I come across. No loose trim, no rattles, never uses a drop of oil between services and the oil stays a nice golden colour right through the 12 months. The paintwork is excellent and the interior still feels fresh and solid. I don't know why I sold all my previous 4.2s other than boredom and the urge for something different. I fully intend to keep this one (where have I heard that before?! 🙄)

This pricked my ears up this morning but under closer inspection it’s accident damaged at the rear , see crease and rust just behind spare wheel , + faded headlights/ corroded wheels and a price to make your eyes water !! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Rav-4-Automatic-/133448226285

Re damage, I'd give Ben a call and ask him how it happened. It may not be much and if you get new panels to put it right and there's no structural damage, it could be a goer. The headlight fading and alloy corrosion is common at this age; a Maguier's kit and a wheel refurb would see it right. I would like to know how many owners and just how "full" the service history is. Given the mileage, the price isn't bad. Certainly if it were at a dealer, the price would be a good deal higher, albeit with some protections.
