I'm more or less certain my next daily will be an EV.
The running costs are just so much less. If they can just start getting the lease deals a bit more competitive.
The Zoe RS that's due next year looks interesting. But then many of the mainstream manufacturers are coming on line now - which is good and will no doubt speed things along and give us a lot more choice.

With a petrol or diesel car you have to fill the tank every so often - you can't just drive on forever - but the refuelling time is short (5-10 minutes) while the driving time / range is relatively long. The issue with EVs has been that up until recently it's been the other way around - long charge time (assuming that you can find a charger) for a relatively short drive time. Interesting data on this site ( pod-point) indicating how far you can go in various EVs from a 30 minute charge ... So for a Tesla Model 3 you can expect 210 - 301 miles from a 30 minute stop at a 150kW super charger. That equates to 3 or 4 hours driving from a 30 minute stop. So, if you plan your journey sensibly, you can realistically drive until you are just too tired to go on - the driver will have to give up before the car. That gives you a daily driver for pretty much any journey - not just a city runabout - but at £50k it's still pretty expensive ... The Kia e-Niro can mange about half that - 160 miles from a 30 minute stop at a 150kW super charger which equates to 2 or 3 hours driving from a 30 minute stop ... which, TBH, is probably enough for me these days. Start with it fully charged (range ~283 miles allegedly) with a charging stop for coffee, a leisurely lunch and then afternoon tea and you easily get 500 miles in a day. And at around £35k that's heading into affordable territory (well, when compared with the cost of new cars that is).

Since I have retired I could make a case quite easily for running an EV. As a transport concept I can see their advantages. But I am a petrol head, and whilst I accept that we are a dying breed, I just can't get excited about any of the current EVs/hybrids.
I do find the environmental arguments laughable;as if they can be produced and used without any effect on the environment. I have said it before, if everybody who currently drives a fossil fuelled car switched to an EV, the grid would collapse. OK, I know that ain't going to happen but the powers that be are trying to convince us that the ultimate demand can be managed by clever adoption of software solutions whereby our EVs will not recharge during periods of high demand. So who will be left sucking the hind tit in this utopian energy wonderland? It's like smart meters which are anything but.
Fortunately I was born at the right time so that I was able to enjoy the best of FVs. I will be long gone by the time my kids and grandkids will have to deal with the inevitable problems.

Don't get me wrong I'm a petrolhead too and the 5.5 litre V8 parked in the garage ain't going anywhere.
However having borrowed mum's EV on a number of occasions the cost (or lack of) to run one as a daily driver can't be ignored. Good tax breaks as a company car also tempt. Do keep an eye on lease deals, but they're still a bit strong for me and tbh i'm not a massive fan of the looks of any of the true EVs available just now. But that will change. The environmental arguments don't interest me.
The acceleration from 0mph is also quite addictive :driving:
