Of course now all the upgrading and messing about will start: Side steps Nightbreakers OEM RAV4 bull bar (although don't know if they're still available and the Boss hates them) Power socket in boot Etc Etc We really do have to keep this one!!! It's started. Managed to find a set of OEM mudflaps on Fleecebay. Found my original"how to" for the rear power socket. Wired up the dash cam. Sidesteps aren't exactly prolific but I'll keep looking. Repaired the little odd scratches using The Charlie Method. Washed it for first time today and that is usually the time when you find the flaws that you missed on first view but nothing amiss. It was obviously kept as a garage ornament by the first owner. 😊

Might be good Jim to start a separate thread showing the Ravs progress as you build on it and perhaps some how to's??

Not sure about the sides. Both the Boss and I admit that whichever goes on the sills they're really only to bling the car up a bit, particularly the black bodywork, although the OEM sidesteps do a splendid job keeping the road Mick off the lower doors. I reckon that the rock sliders would look best.

I’ve got the bars on mine but I’ve often thought running boards would be a better option.

No Jim , I was warned of this problem when I got them so whilst cleaning them up (they were an eBay find) I had the end caps off so applied a little glue and larger pop rivets.. I actually have a couple of new spare end caps sitting in the shed , another lucky eBay find..

I’ve got the bars on mine but I’ve often thought running boards would be a better option. By far the best side steps/side bars available for the 3 door but would be tricky to find now (and with the end caps still fitted )😉 ...and then you need the rear step to match 👍🏻👍🏻

Bob , regarding the rear step/bar to match, I don’t know if it would fit with the towbar I have in place ?

That is one awesome looking car Jim. Like you said it’s a keeper and if you were ever to sell it I’m sure some of us would be willing to buy it 😊. I read an article recently I’ll see if I can find it again the original Rav is a possible classic and I really think the 3 door 4.2 could well be too
