Have you got it yet Jim ? Maybe he’s taking the scenic route home 😉 Good one, Bob😊 Honiton is a pain to get to. Five hours on the train and three changes! Cost is daft as well. So the Boss has done a deal with the dealer to deliver it next week. Not much more than the train fare and a hell of a lot less hassle.

From my home in north Kent by train would be 4hr 19mins two changes ☹️☹️

Train fares make no sense at all.

Not much more than the train fare and a hell of a lot less hassle. Any sign of the Rav yet Jim Yes, Paul. It was delivered by a couple of very nice chaps from Devon on Tuesday (2 because they were collecting cars on their way back). I've not had time to get any photos yet as I've been getting the Saab ready, putting it on Autotrader, getting the original reg back on, etc. And it's been too bloody cold to stay outside for any length of time anyway.
However the car is great and in fact the more I see of it, the better it seems. As I said before, it's pristine: the paintwork is lovely (just a few minor scratches that I'll use Charlie's patented repair technique on), the alloys are unmarked, the tyres are nearly new and the interior is just about perfect. What has really struck me is the condition of the engine bay; everything looks unused. The plastics, rubber hoses, hose clips, screw/nut heads are like new. Even the bolt heads down in the lower reaches of the bay are gleaming. I don't think it's been steamed because it is better than that and there is no residue of any kind that you would get from cleaning. The paintwork under the bonnet is immaculate and the ID plate on the strut turret is like new. I know it is a bit cliched but if it weren't for the reg plate, you'd swear that it had just come out of the showroom. There aren't even any stone chips on the bonnet or bumper and the headlights are absolutely gleaming. I can only assume that it spent more time in the garage than it did on the road.
Admittedly it isn't as much fun to drive as the 9.3X but it drives like a new RAV. You can guess that I'm pretty chuffed with it and the Boss is happy because it's so easy to get in and out of. If the weather improves a bit over the weekend I'll try to get some photos :TU: .

I spoke with Kingo about getting a few bits like sidesteps and OEM mudflaps but he told me that they aren't available anymore unless I can find some NOS from a Toyota dealer. So it looks like some research will be required into after-market stuff in due course. A shame really because things like the OEM sidesteps were brilliant quality.

Yes Kingo told me the same thing Jim as I was after the rear chrome bar at the time but more worryingly is that some of the mechanical parts are obsolete as well. With your Rav been in such good condition I suspect used parts such as the steps would be out the question unless in excellent nik??

Toyota's OEM steps never had a bling factor being brushed aluminium so a second-hand set could work. But I'm not in a rush; I'll look at the aftermarket stuff and see if anything suits. Meanwhile here are a few initial photos I took today. I admit to having gone a bit anal on the engine bay but I just found it so "new" that I couldn't help it. Ditto the headlights which look like they have just come out of the box.
