The C-HR is a nightmare in the cold. Yesterday the screen was frozen inside and had to scrape it off. Put a blanket on the dash to catch all the bits. Same again today. Spoke to dealer and was “TOLD!” I’m not closing the windows properly!! Seriously? Anyway what could be the cause and how can I stop it?

Do you use the aircon in winter? - i.e. leave it on auto. That should help to dehumidify the cabin.

Always, I’ve also just noticed the inside of the navigation screen looks like it’s steamed up so there is something going on. I’m going to give Toyota head office a call it might get them to look at it properly. I’ve got all photos now too which show how bad it is.

Google suggests that you are not alone in 'enjoying' this particular C-HR feature ... Obviously there's moisture in the cabin - either from something you've stored in the car or some sort of 'leak'. Good luck!

i had same problem with my daughters 3 year old fiesta. ice on inside of windscreen and had to use paper towel to mop up all the water once de-iced. i Found all the matts were damp. she has hardly used it since she passed her test between lockdowns and then furloughed. Once the matts were dried solved the problem. i was convinced it was going to be a leak or something problematic to solve and was getting worried about it. hope yours turns out to be something easy to solve.

So reading over that forum possible water leak in the boot or use moisture absorbent granules....not sure what quantity, although that’s not the solution. My daughters Aygo is the only car on the drive out of 4 that get condensation on the inside of the windscreen and then freezes in the winter 🤔

My daughter's Aygo is the same. I was surprised to find the CRV had a lot of condensation on the inside of the windscreen on the one occasion when I had backed into the drive in cold weather and the front was more exposed to the elements. Maybe the rear screen also has condensation, I don't know, but that would be easily cleared with the heating element. I am not as knowledgeable on cars as most on here but could it be a problem with Ash's CHR that a drainage hole in the door has become blocked?

I’ve used those granules and they didn’t make a difference. It’s also in the navigation screen which shouldn’t be happening. To be honest I’ve never had anything in the car that’s likely to cause so much. The mats are all dry it’s not been used in the wet at all as we’ve been using the Rav. The Ravs parked next to it and that doesn’t get any at all whatsoever. As per usual the call back from dealer never happened. They promise you the earth when you buy the car and as soon as somethings wrong it’s a different story. IM’s till annoyed when he “told!” Me I probably leave windows open. Talk about being patronising

My daughters Aygo is the only car on the drive out of 4 that get condensation on the inside of the windscreen and then freezes in the winter 🤔 Quantity is 1kg per bag and 1 bag is plenty for a car. I reckon they are a solution insofar as you are always going to get moisture in a car: wet shoes/coats on the passengers, dampness in the back from dogs, wet shopping bags in the boot, moisture entering through the ventilation system - the aircon may be sealed system but the trunking to the vents isn't.
The inside of the windscreen on the Saab froze a couple of weeks back as the car hasn't been used much during the house move. Problem was that I had omitted to dry out the silica bag and it stopped working. Once it was regenerated, no more condensation inside the car. :TU:

Here’s some photos of the navigation screen the other photo the droplets are inside not outside. It’s usually like that for the whole screen if it’s not frozen.

Had this with the Yaris. Turned out to be water in the spare wheel well.
Had to replace the n/s rear light cluster rubber seal. Seems to have solved it.
