I have a set of those protection strips for the 4.3 in their original box, unused...... I now have a complete set of refurbished wheels with a set of tyres that have only done about 4000 miles for my 4.3. Also, 2 steel spare wheels. Have to say, my least favourite feature of the Yaris Cross is the wheels. Much preferred the ones on the 4.3.
[ How’s it going with the Yaris X? I’ve been thinking about one as a replacement for the RAV.

Have you actually sat in a Yaris Cross Chris? I was looking at one from the outside the other day and I have to say that space in the front seemed, shall we say, less than optimal for those gifted of stature. Hi David - I traded the RAV in for one last Friday. You are right about it being more compact than the RAV but so long as I don't need 4 in the car for a long journey, it will work fine for me. I did cheat a bit, Anchorman let me drive his across the Snake Pass the week before and that convinced me it would be OK. They are very nimble with a wheel right at each corner and an incredible turning circle. Will I use all the bells and whistles? Maybe not, but the reversing camera and adaptive cruise control are brilliant. SHCM has one as well. I bought it at Fish Brothers in Swindon. Nice one Chris. Fish Brothers is where my RAV came from and has been serviced by them up to now. Enjoy the Yaris :TU:

[ How’s it going with the Yaris X? I’ve been thinking about one as a replacement for the RAV. It's exactly what I did Jim! I had an XT5 with a sunroof and was a little concerned about feeling a little claustrophobic in the Yaris, so I went for the Excel with the panoramic roof which feels fine as well as allowing an extra inch or so of headroom. The seats in the RAV were getting a little tired so the somewhat less generous seats in the Yaris are a welcome relief. It only had 8 miles on the clock when I collected and it was fairly tight. Despite this I go 45 MPG out of the first tankful and I'm expecting that to go up to 60, maybe 60+ as it beds in. I always thought the handling on the RAV was good but the Yaris feels as though it's on rails with very accurate steering and a turning circle like a Triumph Herald. Winter traction is an unknown as yet but Anchorman was very pleased with his during the recent bad weather. My neighbour swapped her CH-R for a Yaris ( Cross ) and loves it. She is a nurse with a challenging drive to work in winter.
If you are contemplating a swap, make sure that you get a decent test drive in it. It is smaller than the RAV and I think you need to experience the size for a few miles before you adjust. It's a brilliant car for one or two people but very different if you need four seats for a long journey. Go on! try one!

Yeah, I'll need to book a test drive. I like the GRSport but it's only FWD and I prefer AWD so it would have to be an Excel. Built one on the website and it came to over £32K! But I'd get close to that back for the RAV if I sold it to one of the stealer sites. I had the RAV in for its service this week and they had a RAV4 GRSport in the show room - £45K!!!!! Nice car though. They gave me an Aygo X courtesy car and it was a real fun drive, bit small though.

I suspect it was because they needed the sale before the end of March.

Re the RAV GRSport, lovely car but you can’t get any RAVs at the moment. If you go on the website, you can’t access the RAV portal nor can you order a brochure. I believe that they aren’t even taking orders at present. On various RAV Facebook sites, they speak of waiting times of up to 17 months. Popular car; glad we bought ours when we did. 😊

On CarWow I got an offer from Fish Brothers, so I rang them on Sunday 26th March and they took the order for delivery on 18th January 2024. On Monday when they tried to put the order on the system, it was rejected as Toyota were no longer offering the panoramic roof option. The salesman rang me with the bad news but said he had an alternative: They were due the delivery of and AWDi Excel with a panoramic roof, sidesteps and a boot liner in Decuma Gray that week as a demonstrator. As they could no longer offer the panoramic roof to customers, they wouldn't really be able to use it as a demonstrator, would I be interested? The answer was a definite "yes" and I picked it up on Friday 31st March. As I said to Anchorman, "if you can't get a good mate, get a lucky one!"

Having just come back from a shopping trip in the RAV, I’m not really sure about changing it. It does drive lovely, has all that space and is currently doing 47mpg. I do love driving it and it looks great in silver with the black pan roof. The jury’s still out on the black wheels, mind……🤔 The only little niggle is what I’ve been reading recently about roof leaks that have developed in some cars due to iffy gaskets on the clips that hold the rails in place. ☹️
