Thanks Bob, not sure about the ones with the caps as they usually go missing. I was going to get a complete set of new nuts but these old ones will do as you can hardly see them. Trilock nuts have been going for years …good quality and the caps stay on well, I’ve had a few sets of them over the years 👍🏻

Wheels were collected this morning for refurb so hope all goes well with them i should get them back Friday they said. Decided to keep the summer tyres on for now as they are like new and for the amount of miles we do now so again will see how they go.

My paint to do the rear corner bumper has finally arrived, by Royal Mail, and the weather has got colder, and getting colder next week, so is it too cold now to attempt the spraying without any heat?

Paints nowadays are water based rather than solvent, so I guess you would need to use it above 5C. The supplier should give you help.

When I had the fire engine, the touch up paint was coach enamel and touch dried very quickly. The spray would dry fairly quickly... especially if you do it in you kitchen! (Might need to apply for a homeless accommodation first though )

Beware spraying in a heated room if the heat type causes convection…. Radiators for instance cause air movement that moves dust with the air, Ambients are not really cold yet so you should be ok. 👍👍

OK folks so Mrs P has now decided to have a set of new all weather tyres on the newly refurbed wheels, which were going to be delivered back today and fitted, so i phoned them up and they said they could get and fit the new tyres, so he sent us three tyres in our budget range, one of which was the Vredestein tyre, which i know Charlie likes, trouble is i can't see anything that says they are suitable for a 4x4? Could someone in the know confirm that this tyre is suitable, cheers.

The tread pattern is very similar but without the sypes. They were the quietest set of tyres I ever had on a 4x4 and the wet grip ( Summer tyres don't forget ) was phenominal. I got mine from Camskill which I seem to remember is in Workington and, like you, had them fitted when the wheels were refurbished.

Paul I’ve been running on Vredestien Quatracs on both the IQ and the RAV4 for well over ten years. Very quiet tyres that give excellent mileage and fantastic grip. I never drive overly fast on wet roads or when temperatures are low and I’ve never had a single moment. If I needed tyres again right now I’d have no hesitation in buying them again. I always buy from Camskil they’ve never let me down yet. 👍👍

They are normal road tyres - they are not all terrain tyres or highway/terrain tyres that might be fitted to a vehicle intending to be used 'off-road'. But like any road tyre, they can be used off the tarmac surface. They are XL rated (extra load) so are suitable for a heavy vehicle such as a large SUV - but then the RAV4 ain't that heavy anyway. So they would be perfectly well suited to your RAV4 ...

Thanks Chris, Charlie, and Philip. Philip usually when i type in the reg No for the Rav the results show that these tyres are suitable for 4x4s, and even when we go to the local tyre place they say "your limited to choice as its a 4x4, you need 4x4 tyres" So assumed that there was some difference between 4wd and 2wd tyres and just wanted to make sure we were getting the right tyre.
