Well folks i have now finally to get a pair of genuine side bars or rock bars for the 3 door Rav to go with the rear bar i managed to get recently, but still haven't fitted I saw these for sale in early December but was collection only down in Somerset, and when the seller didn't reply to me being able to pick them up i thought they had been sold and just forgot about them, but then Uncle Bob noticed that the seller had put the seller would now post them, he told me and apparently i was first to reply and get them and they arrived nicely packed earlier today. They have all four end caps and do have a few little dents in but given their age and scarcity i'm not complaining  So another job to be done on this Rav when it gest warmer

Excellent new…now drill the rivets out from the black plastic caps and fit new bigged rivets 👍🏻…so common for them to drop off ☹️

Stainless self tappers would be another option.

I've just been having a look at the end caps on the side bars as i could see one wasn't fitting together tightly as they are in two halves, and none of the metal step were tightly fitting against the shoulder of the recess on the cap. Looks like they have had some sort of repair on them in the past with some tape wrapped around where they push into the step to make them a tighter fit i presume, or is that normal for them does anyone know? Anyhoo the one is completely broke in half and now the two halves don't seem to want to line up with each other, as i was just going to glue them together and seems to be under a bit of pressure when forcing them to try and line up.

Originally just a tight fit with a rivet underneath. Could alway warm the plastic up (carefully 😉) with a heat gun to reshape it 👍🏻

Done all this before…..as Boab says, drill out end caps, then leave them off until tubes are on car. Why for you ask….? Coz that way you can position caps in CORRECT LOOKING position whilst ON car…..not as easy as it sounds. Then put GOOD THIK BEAD of Gorilla glue or Sticks Like Shit on the caps….they will never move again…..rivets will. Good wan Jase…..end caps now unavailable.

Thanks Kev will do :TU: I have managed to unscrew the the remaining end caps and all did have tape wrapped around the step part so have taken all that off and they are all a loose-ish fit so they would fall off easily. Using an expanding adhesive would be better with how these fit?? Thanks Jase i will look forward to receiving the new cap as the broken one as had it but will keep as a spare :TU:
