Yeah.. I know it's not a Rav4.
This Mitsi , well - going to have to be a little careful.
I reckon, 20 mpg.. at best.
It's got Eco mode, but even driving very very gently.
It's got a readout above the fuel guage ( and today I filled up to the brim )
It read 400 miles to empty , I reckon I drove maybe 8 miles very locally today.
It's now reading 370 miles to empty.
Perhaps I'm disillusioned from running the little Yaris.
Just thought I'd mention it.
But I am now wary of running it.
Tbh... I didn't really think about that when I looked at it. I just thought, nice looking vehicle with a 1.5 engine... no problem.
Edit... half hour later - and watching utube car videos.
I'm a car bloke , I'm going to enjoy this.

The engine will be tight for quite a few miles so don't take anything as gospel until after the first 12K service. Also do manual brim to brim mpg calcs to check the on board readings. 👍

Agree you can’t expect manufacturers mpg straight out the box 👍🏻

Jamie, the range reading will vary depending on how you drive, type of journeys, load, weather etc. I often get in to drive Wife's 2.2 auto diesel ASX and it will show a range of, say, 380 miles at start of journey and then, after a return trip of, say, 80 miles it'll show a range of 390 miles. I drive on fumes you know

😂
Thinking back to my old 4.3 Rav4 d4d.
Probably about the same mpg tbh.
It's just been so long since it went, I've forgotten roughly what I was paying out. Perhaps I can't compare 🤔
If I can run in on £30 ish a week I'll be happy.
See what happens.
It's still a lovely car to drive 👍

The Yaris ran on fumes you know...😂🤣😂 Or perhaps electric 🤔 😛😛 You should have kept it then 👍 It was a brilliant little run around, but I missed my 4wd too much. And dreaded spinning my front wheels trying to get home from work in any snow or ice this winter. I feel safer, higher and more confident in the Mitsi , far more practical too. But the trade off is running costs. It'll be what it'l be. 👍

you certainly cannot base fuel economy on the changes in a predicted range over 8 miles! If you could, then my Corsa is way better than Charlies fuming IQ as MY car refuels itself for free sometimes (as the predicted range increases if I slow down )

I am so glad we vet E85 ethanol here, the rav isn't bad on fuel economy for a 2l petrol, but only paying between 60 and 70 cents a litre makes it very cheap to run. Dave

Tbh... although the Yaris was Hybrid, imho it wasn't ' that ' good. They give you a certificate at when you test drive a hybrid 🤣 They say 50% of your test drive was electric. I reckon if I really feathered that throttle I'd get 1 mile tops out of the battery. If I asked even slightly more from the accelerator the engine would cut in ,in the the first few meters. Around town , probably great. For my needs , nope.
