Looking for a photo and came across a couple which somne may find interesting. This just shows not to write off a wheel when it looks a bit rough ... All the wheels were like this when I got the car in ... And afterwards I was quite surprised myself how well they came up! Oh, and this is the motorcar they came off of - smart little sport car

These were actually done by a powder coater in Edinburgh I took the wheels to to get chemically dipped and then refinished. I was shocked by the lack of pitting on the alloys I have to say. (I did do the car itself though Full Machine Polish top to bottom while I was waiting for the wheels to get turned round.)

They look excellent ...seems common for Toyota wheels to go that way , some of the 4.2 wheels look horrible on eBay/auto trader adverts .

I think Mazda wheels are usually the worst of the bunch though. Lovely job, Hoovie. Was it recent? years ago (2013?). I just came across the photos and recalled a couple of posts here asking about wheel refurbs. Not offering a service but just posted them to say not to write off wheels as too late if they look really bad. The Car was a W plate IRRC so would have been 14 years old.

Love those wee MR2s.... Had one new way back on X reg..... The wheels on that one were subject to a warranty claim..... negotiated a set of OZ Superleggeras in 18 inch rather than have a new set of Toyota rims which were from memory 15 inchers.
Nice work David.

Nice work David. Cheers, I had fancied a MR2 or MX5 for ages and ages but kind of got into the vans instead now # Wheels are a weird thing - I sometimes think companies just don't care how bad they do as customers don't tend to notice as rarely wash them properly and notice problems. I had a full set of Warranty replacement Alloys on my 2005 RAV4. Waited until it was 2 years 10 months old to claim ALso had a full new set under Warrany on my Citroen DS5 due to some inner well corrosion bubbling :TU:
