Maybe just go with it. Life is too short.

Next Friday sees me off to pay my respects to another relatively young decent man. A mate. Life is for living 👍👍

If the indicators work I'd keep it... Think it’s written in the handbook BMW drivers don’t need to use them 😄😄😉 Well said, Chaps. Handbook???

If the engine has been changed, has 2 years warranty & you enjoy driving I can't see a logical reason why you'd want to get rid of it within the next 18 months. At least BMW has honoured it's warranty unlike Toyota

It wasn't a BMW warranty but one from a company called WMS. We also have the Saab with them and in the Beemer fiasco, they have been brilliant. The BMW dealer tried to extract an extra couple of grand from us in all of this simply because they couldn't decide exactly how much it cost to replace the engine. They originally told WMS 10.5K, which WMS settled the claim on but then came up with 13K and then 17K after the job was done. When I went back to WMS to query what the hell was going on, they went bananas with the dealer who then had to make grovelling apologies all round. I can only guess how much extra profit that dealer could make if they actually knew what they were doing!

Even the bottom 10.5K sounds utterly ridiculous for a replacement engine. Which engine is it Jim ??
I know we live in a throwaway world but there are mechanics who can strip and repair. Same with Jamkes car. How they can’t repair that engine beats me. OK it means an ongoing TINY risk but the car could go on forever ..
Ecologicaly it’s a disaster. Not that I care to be honest.

N43 2.0L, Charlie. Not exactly a rocket ship but, hey, BMW dealers ain't known for being cheap!

As far as I am aware the black surround are an Mazda aftermarket accessory. I do like them. Mine are the cheap plastic chrome ones that are not living very well.

I think those go by the name of "Lexus Lights", a style very popular on Citroen Saxos and old-model Corsas
