who all changes the oil and oil filter every six months regardless of miles covered? i do this as i intend to keep the rav4(and any other part that needs changed)?

It cannot hurt. With our first RAV4 that we bought new in 2002, I changed the oil and filter every 6 months but after the first 5 years or so, I reverted to changing at the annual services. The 5 RAVs that we've owned since have had annual changes and they have all been fine. None of them have used any oil between changes.

Every 6 months is probably over the top for modern lubricants ...but on the other hand oil is the lifeblood of the engine so can’t do any harm 👍🏻

Me tae, Martin.........wife’s car does aboot 3k miles pa now, so after six months of short journeys the oil is bowfin’.
