I have a RAV4 which was two wheel drive auto . I have fitted 3 SGE engine and a MANUAL gearbox from a Toyota Caldinia . The gear box has no numbers on it .My problem is the ratios are too high .i am looking for a second hand Manual box from a two wheel drive RAV 4 SXA. 11 . I would be great full if you could put me in touch with a company dealing in second hand RAV 4 parts . I live in Kenya,my REV 4 is 1998 model. Thanks in advance

The 1998 RAV4 used the 3SFE engine - which uses the same block as the 3SGE. That means that you could mate it to a RAV 1994-1999 gearbox. Now, of course most of these were 4 wheel drive and I'm not sure how you would alter that one.... there was a RAV4 NRG which was 2 wheel drive but from poor memory I think that was the next later version?? The later gearbox may fit although I believe there is a difference in the length of driveshafts... there have been quite a few modifications done around the world and I found the RAV4WORLD forum was a good source of info. Another option would pick up a donor car for the whole gearbox/transmission train and fit the lot. more work but 4 wheel drive makes the car stable.
And welcome to the forum!!
I know that the 3SGE engine has been fitted to quite a few RAVs- I had the 3SGTE engine fitted to both my RAVs..much more fun. Same block but needs the whole wiring harness/sensors etc so ideally a donor car like a smashed MR2 GT
