Given the position of the aircon radiator, likely reason for premature corrosion is excessive chemical fumes from slurry spread in rural areas by farmers defying European regulations on having to leave said slurry to calm down/cool down before spraying into the air. As mentioned as a helpful suggestion about needing aircon in Scotland, its close but a look at the geographical and meteorological charts/maps would show that a short trip to Aberdeen would solve a cooling issue. They get more meteors there.
