We bought our slk through carwow and my brother got his golf on a Drive the Deal special. Indeed, noticed today they're doing dsg'd 5 door Rs for 31K.
They do work, and work well...just not all the time!!

I’ve been buying new since 1994 and had 7 toyotas, 1 Lexus and one Mini Clubman. Although this will have cost me a lot over the years I wanted the piece of mind that my wife would always have a good car, under warranty, service and assistance as I spent half the year out of the uk. But now I’m retired and wanted to save a bit so decided on the Cupra Ateca 300 as a demo buy. 600 miles on the clock and 8k of new. My other choices were VW T-Roc R and Audi Q3 RS. Neither of which I could find a deal.

She did few miles and it occurred to me that there must be other people doing the same so I started buying low mileage nearly new and saved a lot of money. The beauty of saving 8k on your car is not only have you not spent that money but when you do come to trade in the depreciation will look so much less.

My brother in law bought a 2016 Merc E300 Hybrid 🤮🤮 from an independent dealer. It was priced at £23K or thereabouts. When the deal was done he added a £120 documentation/admin fee, £30 for fuel and the petrol station was literally across the road and £10 for road tax. Then he was really pushy for him to purchase GAP insurance, paint and bodywork protection and a few other things that most people were unlikely to buy. I was always under the impression that the price listed should be the on the road price. Anyway he was really cheesed off but paid the documentation and road tax but didn’t bother with the rest. The documentation fee was a ridiculous add on as all he did was give him the green part of the log book and filled in his name and address on the full log book. £110 just for that 🤬🤬
