You all know that I have had a new Kenwood head unit.
Is it worth putting my old B9017 unit and rear camera on eBay, or am I wasting my time.
I was going to hold on to it to put back in when/if I sell my Rav, but to be honest, I really think I'm going to run this car into the ground and it's just not worth the hassle getting everything put back in.
Thoughts please ?
PS, it has 2018/2019 version 1 maps, so pretty much up to date for a headunit.

Haven't got a scooby !!! I'm sure some knowledgeable person will provide input.
I just hate seeing it sitting in a box doing nothing IF it could be used elsewhere.
And I'll sell (give it away) for a proper price !!

Sold my old unit on eBay, £150 instead of sitting in a box doing nothing.
Should and when I sell the Rav, it's just not worth the hassle swapping them all over.
If I do want to keep my new Kenwood unit, I'll just buy a cheap double din unit and stick it in the Rav myself.

I had a local installer fit mine, so not sure to all the bits and pieces.
But the unit I bought has a built in GPS module to accompany Google maps and Waze, so no need install a gps aeriel.
They did have a issue using the existing Rav reverse camera, but I upgraded it to the Kenwood reverse camera which is miles better.
The only thing on the steering wheel that does not work is the button for answering a incoming call, which I can live without.
If you go down this route, be prepared for the unexpected on what may and may not work, unless you know of someone else who has had a aftermarket unit installed. Better still, if you have it professionally fitted, find a installer who has worked on a Rav before.
I was warned by the installer that he could not guarantee 100% what will and will not work until the work began, but I did make it clear that if there where some functions that did not work that I really needed, the deal was to swap it back to the original unit.
All in all, I'm happy with what I have.

Nice units, I have a kenwood DDX4018 DAB with free view TV in my RAV4.2. It does look good in the old rav and the kids can see it quite clearly in the back.
I have just fathomed how to ‘screen mirror’ my iPhone to it as well so use the google maps on it from the phone. Mirroring the phone means Netflix etc as well! Great for the kids and obviously only used when stationary 😉

Just another wee note to end this topic, I just got my Ravs insurance renewal through and it made me think should I tell them about this "modification" ?
Being as honest as I am, and that's back fired on me a few times !! I informed them and they have logged it as a modification and have insured it up to £1000 at no additional charge to me. This is with Direct Line who I have many policies with.
So that was good news.
