The Yaris since last week was sounding very rough when cold once it was warm was great no problem at all. I went to a local place that I’ve not used before as the regular guy was closed. I was quoted £460 plus VAT for a new EGR i thought I’d leave it till our regular guys back.
Anyway went to see our regular guy and told him and he was they can see you coming can’t they? So once again I was nearly caught out. He let me watch him and he took this idle valve something I think it was called off cleaned it out there was tiny hole there that was clogged up. Took EGR off and that was clean no soot or blockages there. All in all about an hours work and some cleaner he used and it ticks over smoothly you can barely hear it. So lesson learnt I’m sticking to Toyota or my local guy.
