If there is no GPS or GSM, no location info would be possible to be transmitted from this device, so no need to worry on that aspect. Spy on when car is used? well from the app you can see when the car is started (voltage up) and when engine off (voltage then drops) but it can't report to some anonymous central device and bluetooth has a very limited range. Would it use power and drain the battery? Yup, it will use some power but I would think it would be very slight and not a significant concern. I have a relatively similar device fitted in my camper that monitors the Battery Voltage and Temperature (temp is important for charging optimization) This is the Victron "Smart Battery Sense" Smart Battery Sense by David, on Flickr This is the Phone screenshot of the device and the type of info it sends to the other devices I have Screenshot_20180427-114017.png by David, on Flickr You could use these kind of devices to see if anything a little 'unusual' is occuring (such as the info below for example) .... RED_SB-Voltage-Ext by David, on Flickr If I didn't already personally have the ability to look at the info I showed above, I tbink I would get the kind of unit you put a link upto as it looks a neat little device with good info and the price is very reasonable as well.

Thought you would have something similar for the camper 😉....read something this afternoon that a working Bluetooth devise left running can cause the alarms to go off in the Lexus\Toyota range but no idea if that’s true 🤔

If there is some kind of "bluetooth makes alarm go off" type problem/feature, you could actually check that quite easily I would think by simply leaving a phone with bluetooth enabled in your vehicle, lock the car and see what happens over a a few hours.

I have a Bluetooth transmitter used to play music and it also keeps an eye on the battery. However it only works when you switch ignition on
