I read in one of the magazines today the Corolla is coming back in early 2019. From what I could make out there are 3 models a saloon, tourer and the hatchback.the interior looks quite similar to the CH-R and I think the tourer looks quite nice. Be interesting to see one in the flesh 😊

Ditched the Corolla name, in favour of Auris. Move on a few years, ditch the Auris name in favour of Corolla.

2012.....hired a Corolla 2.0 litre petrol to drive from Vancouver City to Jasper in the Rockies. Spent most of my time looking for a rice puddin' to prove that car could NOT pull the skin off it.......disgraceful machine.

If we did go for one I’d go for the hybrid model. Think I’m going to become an eco warrior BK ✊🏼✊🏼

And having said that, it appears that the Corolla will come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine - but that option may not be available in the UK ... the various car review sites are inconsistent on the subject! We'll have to wait and see ...

I’ve just been talking to my neighbour about his new Nissan xtrail he bought last week. It’s a seven seater and looks bigger and heavier than Rav 4 but it’s a 1.6 engine but a 2 wheel drive. It’s amazing how the engines are getting smaller. The interior looks quite nice but the quality doesn’t seem as good as the Rav.

Not good enough? I refer you to Kev's comment about the rise puddin'...

And, more importantly, it will have lots of Regie bits so its reliability will be crap. Before the Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi alliance, Nissans (or Datsuns) rusted out from under you but mechanically they were foolproof. Now they don't rust but have the rliability of a Renault!!!!

I knew there was an alliance you would’ve thought the common sense approach would be to use the Nissan engines. I know the London cabs use Nissan engines and that sort of refers back to your point about rust buckets but reliable engines. Is it BMW that we’re using Peugeot engines when they joined the diesel market in the early 90’s

Is it BMW that we’re using Peugeot engines when they joined the diesel market in the early 90’s The original alliance envisaged that Japanese reliability and French design flair would create a world-beating profile. Unfortunately they've manged to get French reliability and Jap design. The aliiance virtually destroyed the Nivarah pick-up's market reputation.

It does look nice, particularly in tourer form IMO.
Back in the BTCC with it next year too. Good stuff.
