Hi guys,
Looking for some guidance on adding a beep/horn to the keyless locking on my RAV4 T180. I had a GT86 before this and was able to enable a beep when locking it through a panel in the glove box. I’m aware that some of the GT86 parts are shared with most older Toyota vehicles like this RAV4.
I was hoping something was available for the RAV4, maybe through a ‘secret’ sequence?
I’m fed up of not being 100% if the doors are locked when using the keyless entry.
Thoughts?
Thanks Jack

Very good point. What I do when I lock my car, is I then pull the handle on one of the rear passenger doors just to check, obviously cannot pull any other door, as this will unlock anyway.
Unlike other manufacturers, if the wing mirrors auto folded when locked, that would be a double bonus !!!

I’m struggling to see why the flashing indicators are not enough ? Presumably as you have to be looking at the vehicle to see the lights, with an audible indication you don't, most US cars 'bleep' when you lock them which annoys the crap out of me especially at night when you're trying to be quiet coming home.

Generally I like the keyless system but you have to be very careful if you carry your keyfob around you as it is pretty easy to brush against something close to the car and inadvertantly trigger the unlock sequence.

I'm so paranoid even if I know I've locked it I still have to check. We bought a Yaris new in 2006 that was keyless and watching my wife was such a laugh. She'd lock the door with the button on the handle then check if it was locked and of course the door would unlock. I told her to use the fob and she did the same again she would lock it and then check to see if it was locked by opening it. She finally figure it out and didn't see the funny side until she calmed down a shame we didn't have video phones at the time.

I think Renault had a auto unlock system for a while - so as you approach the car the doors unlock? hard to check the doors are locked with that one been many years since I had my RAV4 .... how noisy are the locks on them? on my Vauxhall there is a VERY audible mechanical sound when the central locking locks or unlocks the doors (with that I don't need any other signs with my motor - it could do with being a little quieter!)

I think they’re quite loud. I usually double lock it by pressing the lock button twice within 2 seconds so you get a loud noise on the first press and on the second press it’s a quieter noise. Like someone else mentioned earlier you can always check the rear door to ensure it’s locked.
