We took the Rav along to Toyota Saturday morning to get the new tyre fitted and was told that we have a few months left on the brakes both front and rear. They gave us a quote to fit the brakes i'd already bought a few years ago which they said are the right ones. Got home told my brother who said why don't you let his mate do em over the road by him, so I said ok get us a price. He came back saying he can do them but he said he'd probably need new pins and shims as the original ones usually rust badly on tyhese cars and usually need replacing. So was asked if the other bits are in with the rear brakes which they aren't.
So where can I get the new pins and shims from if he needs them?
I have found on Google an old thread fro the other forum where someone was having trouble getting the pins out and Don, Anchorman gave a reply how to do it.

Thanks Widge might give them a go if ebay don't come through, as...………………………………... I went and bought a set that Jase linked to on Ebay, petrol 4wd 2000-2006 model, but then realised after it asked for the car model etc so filled it all in and it said that the kit I had purchased wasn't suitable for the Rav we have so have asked the seller to replace with a suitable kit or a refund

The brake kit arrived Monday so great service from the Ebay seller and the new brakes, well the second hand ones I bought all that time ago, are now fitted and the kit fitted also. The discs were as good as new I was told so they didn't need replacing, so these should last now for a good while again, and all for nearly a third of the price what Toyota were going to charge, who weren't going to guarantee the work as the brakes were being supplied :TU:
