My car went in Feb/March 23 to have a new gearbox fitted after approx 70,000 miles and I was charged by Toyota £7300 for a new gearbox and now 15 months later it has gone again after approx 17,000 miles and Toyota are telling me the gearbox is only under warranty for a year and also blaming me for doing as they claim 30,000 miles but regardless a gearbox should last around 150,000 miles so I am wondering if the dealership put in a new gearbox but a refurbished one instead. How can I find out if it was a new gearbox please?

Welcome. OK, so, an introduction would be appreciated - it is simply polite. Secondly, you need to fill in the details of your RAV so those who may be in a position to comment don't have to ask and you won't need to keep retyping them.

Did Toyota service the car in those 15 months?

You don’t even the model or year let alone whether it’s a manual or automatic. Id start again if I were you .
