My daughter bought a new Toyota Land cruiser/ (Prado?) last year in Brisbane. Circa 50,000 AUD$. That's about £28k here!! She's looking at relocating back to UK. Cost about £3k for the container, plus the cost of changing from Km to miles. I suggested she may make more money bringing it here, flogging it and get something economical to run Must admit I asked if she could buy another in Oz, bring it to UK for me and I'll sell it! Trouble is the lengthy waiting time. Anyone any views?

Some buyers are adverse to Prados which are more or less the same. Prado is instantly recognisable by the additional mirror on the nearside wing. KMPH clocks not really popular. A low mileage late car will sell whether badged as Landcruiser or Prado but the Prado will be slightly less money. Prices really are all over the place especially as used car prices are falling.

Is it just UK cars speedo’s that are dual mph/kmh or would an OZ car have mph as the smaller letting on the gauge ?

Imperial cars with miles as the primary measure seem to always support km as a secondary or alternative measure. Metric cars with km as the primary measure seem not to offer miles as a secondary or alternative measure. And this appears to apply to wholly digital systems as well .... which seems quite daft really!

Ian which engine is in the Landcruiser? I’ve seen imported ones with big 4.7 litre petrol engines that are of course imported. I don’t understand why a few folk have problems with imported cars as they were built in Japan anyway. I’m not so sure I would buy one that could prove a problem with parts availability… But the regular late 2.8 diesels shouldn’t be an issue. I noted the car is not much over a year old so it’s a valuable car much more than the 28K you mentioned. To buy a car that age here in the UK would be all of 50K and more depending on specification. All Landcruisers sell well regardless of origin or specification 👍👍
