I’ve got a New Year’s Day car gathering to go to in the morning, car is washed and looking presentable but was thinking about applying some polish . Car lives outside and temperature is currently 8degs and overcast but don’t want to give myself any aggravation, if it doesn’t polish back off once applied ☹️ YouTube clips suggest 10 degs plus 🤔🤔

If you mean polishing by machine you can do it at any temperature. Best tip I can give you is lubricate more using a 50/50 mix of detailing fluid and water.
Id rather polish in cold temps than when its hot. The only limiting factor is how cold you feel and how low you feel comfortable working either inside or out. If you are going to clay first ( I never put a pad near paint unless ive clayed first ) pop your clay bar into a tub of warm water itl soften it up so it molds to the panel better.
