Hi folks, I’m just problem solving for a pal. He has the B9010 head unit in his. The unit just scans round and round without locking onto a station, nor can you find one manually. There is power to the blue (antenna power) wire. I’ve also tried plugging a replacement simple glass mount aerial in and still nothing so beginning to think it’s probably the unit that is faulty.
Has anyone experienced this or can offer any problem solving advice. OR know of a source for a replacement 9010 unit that will work. Obviously eBay is a source but with no guarantee of getting a working unit
Is replacement easy, we have the nav disc so is a replacement just plug and play
any advice would be really appreciated

I’ve purchased two B9010’s over the years off eBay and have worked ok…its an old unit now and a gamble to buy used, have you thought about and after market double din unit ? |

I'm not sure how easy it now is to get up-to-date maps for that head unit, nor, indeed, quite how much they might cost. Take a look at www.toyota-mapupdates.eu/ to check availability and price! As unclebob says it may be smarter to cut your losses and fit a modern unit that supports AA or ACP and enjoy better navigation and up-to-date maps that way ... |

You haven't said which year the car is but you'll need a facia plate that is compatible with both the double din unit and the car, the connector set to link between the Toyota harness and the new unit and, possibly, the adaptors required for steering wheel controls.
