For a while now, occasionally the push-button to open the car refuses to work, after multiple tries it then works, i have put it down to the key battery and finaly changed it the other day.
But today it did it to me again, no response when pushing the unlock button, i thought maybe the button might be a bit warn but the led on the key flashes so it must be doing something, it was a varta battery but it had been kicking around for a while so maybe i should get a new one.
Any suggestions welcome.

For some reason the battery in my key became a little slack. By that I mean it moved around. I countered it by packing it with a tiny piece of cardboard put up against the battery before the case was snapped back together. Been fine since.
I have in the past had a dud new battery. It was a Duracell one and well in date. I now use Panasonic.

I had a faulty weather station in the garden and it was sending out a signal, I couldn’t unlock my car unless I was at the passanger door….took batteries out of weather station and RAV4 remote worked as normal . Could of been coincidental, I’ll never know 👍🏻 |

Any new radio equipment in the area….new mast….neighbour with a fancy new German car….? A difficult one, it doesn't do it often, and not always at the same location. Mind I rarly lock the car at home anyway, at the moment it usually has all the windows open, otherwise it would probably be about 50°C inside, we are on red alert at the moment, temperatures are hitting 40°C during the day. Sat inside at the moment with A/C on set to 26° which is about the highest temperature before it gets too uncomfortable. |
