Never thought it. My number 2 RAV 3 door 1994 passed its MOT first time yesterday with only a number plate light replacement. Marvellous. Shame its brother is languishing in a yard waiting for its heart to be transplanted into a younger model..... Number 2 started life down near london where they don't blitz the icy roads with steel-gobbling chemicals like they do in Glasgow... where number 1 RAV started off as I think the first RAV4 in Scotland back in 1994. At 24 years old, its perhaps a compliment to the Toyota fold. OK OK- its had a turbo engine fitted and is on its 4th or 5th gearbox but the rest is original...including seats, carpets, doors, rear diff, prop, ....ooops of course its had alloys fitted. Front wings are original as is the bumpers. Windscreen has been done about 3 times....well when it gets dirty isn't that what one does?
Wonder if it'll last as long as my Green Goddess fire engine? 64 years old and still running on the road.
I remember my father had an Austin devon.... rot box. So few left I think they sell for around ten grand, although £300 new!
Mileage on number 2 ? 121,800. It just does about 2500 a year with me now. Its going in for an engine check later this month....bit like myself altho its my exhaust which is faulty lol
