Hi I am a newish member. I have a Rav4 XT-R D-4D and I'm having issues with air coming from the oil filler. The car itself is not using much oil we run it from Yorkshire in the UK down to Spain and back twice a year and never have any trouble. It uses around half a litre over the 2000 mile trip, but having noticed this bit of back pressure has unnerved me a bit. There is absolutely nothing smoke wise coming from the exhaust just wondered if anyone else had noticed this, is it a problem? I would be most grateful for any advice.
Regards Gary B

Apologies Gary, I read that as air coming from the oil filter.....
Ok, so is the filler cap gasket in good condition?

And...check the breather tube that comes out by top right of plastic engine cover and goes into the large duct after the airbox and before the turbo.

Thanks for the quick response guys 1. Yes the pressure is coming from the oil filler and the gaskets are in good condition. Its when I removed the oil filler cap while the engine was ticking over I noticed it had a positive pressure. 2. There is no pressure from the breather tube to the air filter. 3. The engine is a Diesel 2231 cc engine registered in 2012.
