Blessed with the headlamps fitted to my 2002 RAV4, the light output is woefully poor. I've done the polishing etc of the plastic lense so they are smooth externally. Not quite as yellow, and might go down the track of sanding them then polishing them.
I have changed the bulbs, and it has made a bit of a difference - fitted the Xtreme White Plus bulbs from PIAA H4 fitting. Not cheap and as they claim the output is more akin to 110w it is a 55w road legal bulb. Downside of using higher performance bulbs is they will not last as long.
I have now started looking at the fog lights on the bumper but its an odd shape, and maybe just a stronger bulb is a solution. I've started researching what other auxiliary lights I could fit, which will be switched on with the main beam for example. The plastic bumper isn't helpful - in the attempt to fit a lamp unit or 2. Some of you may remember the array of Cibies I fitted to number 1, but that had a bullbar. Ive looked through the Rav4world site too but not much available there. I don't particularly want to fit lights onto the roof.

The 4.2.5 did have small spot lamps available in the accessory catalogue, so brackets must be available.

Your bumper has bigger gaps for fitting led lamps than the facelift model, think those oblong type LED’s could fit well, just find some powerful ones and rig into the main beam using rely 👍🏻

Talking of lights honestly the brightness of some of the headlights coming towards you at night, they’re so bright that they dazzle the hell out of your eyes. Even some of the ones with the day lights are bright. I wear glasses with a slight tint and they still dazzle your eyes. Some of them are just way too bright now and I just find them annoying.

Come to look at these facelift accessories spot lamps …seem a bit limp on size ! Yea - - I received the LED oblong lights today..didn't realise they came in pairs so now have 4 !! Previously with number 1 (which had 6 cibies at one point) I had the extra lights switched through a separate switch on the dash. I'll play around with the oblong ones to see how best they can fit in wih the aerodynamics of the car (thats a joke meant to be)

Come to look at these facelift accessories spot lamps …seem a bit limp on size ! I fitted those on my first RV4.2 and there were ok I thought. I went for the Philips Extreme H4 bulbs as replacements on the headlights and worked well. I know these uprated bulbs are meant to have a shorter life but I tend to fit them on every vehicle and have never had one fail. But of course it is down to how much the lights are on and I am now very much a low mileage driver.
