Just for info. After getting new rear discs and pads, a clicking started from the rear near side hub. The brake assembly was taken apart twice and nothing found. As it got worse, the garage found on the 3rd attempt that it was the pins on the caliper were worn and allowing a little movement on the pads. New pins fitted to both sides and the clicking has gone.

Those pins can corrode badly. I had seized ones on our wee IQ which shares the same design.. Wheel cleaner whether acidic or not accelerates that corrosion. 👍👍

I had the problem on one of the front callipers on my 4.3 many years ago then on my wife’s IQ on both of the rears. If I’m honest the ones on the IQ were corroded from sheer neglect on my part. I left the rear brakes for 4 years without doing a proper brake service. Top of my to do list is to service the brakes on the RAV4 👍👍

Was this clicking on yer new 3 door, Boffs….? no - twas on the 2002, and started after the rear discs and pads were changed. Hindsight, the pins should've been checked too.
