Well, an update. The nearside wing and passenger door have been repaired and sprayed. Then taken for its new shoes. Number 3 update

Next will be to attack the headlamp plastic then probably an MOT, followed by a visit to get Dinitrol.

I should have added they are Romac wheels, with Falken 245/45x18 all weather tyres.

I’d be interested in the history of this car ,was thinking it was a Japanese import yet it could be U.K. spec and had the arches taken off . Either way it has very clean lines without them 👍🏻

Either way it has very clean lines without them 👍🏻 From what I understand from V5, it was manufactured in 2002, registered 10/9/2002 (where?) and registered in UK in May 2004. Variant ACA20 (Z) and Version ZCZZOR-AZDNKW(18) means nothing to me
Chassis JTEYH20V600039464
I'm happy that it had no arch extensions as thats the major cause of wing rot on previous RAVs. The radio etc has a 6 CD player and is Toyota but it doesn't look quite right. I think I will try changing it to one I have which allows phone connection.
Engine - I'll take a pic. I can see its had a couple of cables replaced to sensors. Having been used to the 3SGTE shoe-horned into the engine bay, its quite funny seeing how much space is there.

Sadly I have no access to model codes anymore, the chassis number starts the same as mine. I’m just thinking the arches have been removed .

Thanks Jeff. I saw that last night too. I arranged insurance for the year today, and the broker said the car is shown as an import on the Insurance database. Odd, I said as its pretty much UK spec, aside of little differences like the wheel arch For Bob, here's a pic of the engine - hopefully its the right way up!

The info shows the car as 2005, but the V5 shows its made in 2002 and first registered in 2004 in the UK. Odd

So an import of some description then, although that’s worked to your advantage as the underside has not seen much salt . Looks like the headlamps need a polish up 👍🏻 Any other jobs that need attention ?

Aye Bob...but its been in the UK maybe since 2004; or at least registered in UK since 2004. The underside is one of the cleanest I've seen in a car this age so its the MOT (after polishing the headlamps), then off for a Dinitrol treatment. MOT first as I suspect a wee knock at the front nearside needs investigated. The front wing had a wee bit of damage at the front corner, and I noticed the front steel wheel had a lip bent + the tyre was worn at one patch - all adding up to that corner needing checked for alignment too. I didn't rralise that it had overdrive!! Was that normal on the 4.2 autos ?
