Your '06 model came to be in November '05, hence '05 to'08, when the facelift took place. Frankly I would go for the rubber, heavy duty mats - the Toyota 'luxury' mats are, as Big Kev would say, Pish.

I wouldn't pay that much for Mats just because they are "genuine". They will be no better then a 3rd party mat at a fraction of the price. Here is one Alternative: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-RAV-4-06-13-FULLY-TAILORED-BLACK-CAR-MATS-WHITE-TRIM/172089133495?hash=item28114fc9b7:g:7XMAAOSwnLdWs~aG£15.99 with free P&P There are numerous other sellers. I am linking to the one above as I bought a cab mat for my VW LT from them and it was a perfect fit, great quality and under £15 in that case. Plus they actually sent the wrong one initially, but rectified the mistake without any hesitation and big apologies, so good quality product, great customer service :TU: I also got a full set of Mats for my Corsa from THIS Supplier - stores.ebay.co.uk/VF-AUTOZONE - and again a perfect fit and good quality - and £27.99 for all four mats plus a tailored rubber Boot Tray. At those kind of prices and quality, I would never pay the inflated OEM "genuine" prices again.

AFIK, none of the aftermarket rubber mats have the snug fitting raised edge that the Toyota ones have. Most have either flat edges or are 'one size fits all, cut to fit' types.

All cars that I've had always have had the genuine makers carpets mats, which quickly go into storage and I have always coughed up the money and bought genuine Toyota or Lexus rubber mats, perfect fit, very durable and normally will have the car logo, such as RAV etc.
But I'm sure there are universal good quality mats out there that may just need a wee trim to fit.
I have also always bought the genuine boot mats with the raised edge all round which has saved me a load of hassle when something leaked (milk), well worth the money.

The Tailored fit mats fit just as well without ANY trimming - and the same goes for the Rubber Boot Mats. I got the 'genuine' RAV4 one with the 2011 RAV4 SR I bought, and I have bought 3 other Boot Mats (with raised edges) for the next 3 cars I had after the RAV4 - the only difference between them and the branded one was a Car Makers Logo. The fit has been perfect every time, down to pre-moulded areas to account for weird little protrusions in the boot. Guess you pay your money and make your choice (mine is not to waste cash on Logos)

I must admit I was disappointed with the quality of the genuine boot liner I bought for mine.

I must admit I was disappointed with the quality of the genuine boot liner I bought for mine. The 4.2 3 Door I bought back in 2015 (so not one of the 3 cars after the 2011 RAV4) came with a Toyota Boot Liner and from my recollection it felt very thin and floppy?

Well, the genuine, second hand boot liner in my RAV is approaching ten years of use by me now and has shown no sign of wear despite shipping both children's stuff too and from Uni for four years, numerous trips to the tip [sorry, recycling centre], holiday luggage, airport runs, collecting bags of coal and innumerable loads from the builder's merchants etc. It's still thin and floppy though and doesn't have the 'non-slip' section in the centre like, I believe the one that Big Kev has, and I'm sure his is an aftermarket version for which he paid somewhat less than the Toyota one.

Thanks for these responses. Don’t like rubber mats. So will probably go for the £15.99 option. Provides resources to fork out at least £1 a month for here. Will have had my moneys worth already!

I bought genuine tailored Honda mats for our CRV but on reading this post I have ordered some rubber ones for the rest of this inclement winter from www.travall.co.uk. £35 didn't seem a bad deal and I have found the rubber liner for the boot that I bought from Amazon a real benefit.

If I remember correctly, the Toyota ones don't even have the reinforced area on the driver mat so those are good value.
