What’s the easiest way to add pictures here? check this out and follow the links .... Forum Help Guide I will update the guide as it doesn't make the following clear... The Quick Reply Window does not have all the links noted in the Posting Images option. To get the full range of options available to you, click on the green "Reply" button to get the full reply window.

Haven’t used an image hosting site for years.

The IMGbb one for which there is a direct for is dead easy - but once uploaded, remember you CANNOT remove as it is an anonymous upload (I use it for random stuff that I don't care about and doesn't identify me in any significant way)

I copied the URL from Flickr. This was it: www.flickr.com/gp/140487160@N06/wApi91I clicked on the picture icon. Inserted the link exactly as above after removing the http:// that was in the box marked Image URL It just produced a square with a blinking cursor. What am I doing wrong? And what does “The thread in which you are posting has no effects applied to it” mean? Forgive this old timer’s ignorance.

I see clicking on the copied URL takes you to the picture, but that wasn’t what I was expecting!

In that image you have the Viewing Privacy Level set to Private, so you are not getting the code you need to post. Change Viewing Privacy level to "Public", then refresh your browser page, and you should see the curverd arrow symbol (to the right of the star next to the image) become white instead of being greyed out. Click on that, then click on the BB Code (4th from Left) and chose the size you want (800 is probably best for a Forum)
