Hi. Soon I need to remove the rear door lower plastic trim, any tips how to attack it? Also in anticipation that it will need some new clips when i come to refit it (some are already broken) anyone know what they are?

The plastic can become very brittle when cold and cracking a panel would be an expensive job! If you have to do it in the cold, a hair drier or a hot-air gun on a low setting might help. Do you have any of those wide bladed trim removal tools? If not they are pretty cheap on Amazon/ebay and they make the job much less stressful.

Outside, it needs refitting as it is a bit lose but also need to tidy up some wireing where i had to fit a fog light on the other side when i imported it to france. But maybe it would be better to wait for warmer weather, but i still would like to order some new clips to be ready if anyone knows the part number.

I may well be wrong but if you’re referring to the protection panels on the outside of the door, aren’t those fitted wit 3M-type double sided tapes? I fitted OEM ones to an LC a few years ago and they were stuck on.

Its the grey panel across the bottom of the door, its a bit wobbly and i think too heavy for tape.

Dave Ok I’m upto speed with the said panel 😉, I’ve not taken one off myself but did buy a set of clips off EBay, as a few had broken and just pulled it away at one end and put the clips in . What looks worrying about this used eBay panel below, is the brackets that the clips locate in have pull off the panel completely. Now not sure if this is age related or due to low temperature. A good trim tool might allow you to prize the clips off. Looks like mainly push clips..the spare wheel area has the pull the head up type and maybe a 10mm bolt behind the number plate . The clips I bought were a rubbish fit, so main dealer could be the best option. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393506493909

Is it possible to remove the inner trim panel and push the outer panel clips out from inside the door? From memory when fitting the wider opening check strap ,the inner panel only has hand size access holes at each end 🙁

May be enough to at least ease some of the studs out though.
