Never thought about it before,I just take it for the test, but there are a lot of ravs around here and my disco was also permanent 4x4, if it is an issue test centers must be aware of it and take the appropriate actions.

Just been doing a bit of research and apparently (and I think this might be true for my test station) they rotate the wheels on the same axle in oposit directions so it is just the diff rotating not the drive shaft to the transfer box. As long as you don't have a limited slip diff I guess this is fine.

Also been doing some research and it seems ok at the speed the brake test rollers run at . Also messaged John Devlin and he asked one of the Toyota mot testers and its fine to do that (cheers John )👍🏻👍🏻 This is a page from a RAV4.2 workshop manual and covers what to do for manual and auto vehicles ….

The reason I asked as I reviewed the dashcam footage of my RAV4 being tested and he put it in the rollers , yet the blue RAV4 I had a few years ago the tester took it around the block and used a tapley meter . So all good and nothing to worry about .

There were instructions issued for high speed brake roller testers but these modern low speed rollers don’t seem to bother them.
