Stay WELL AWAY fae here until International travel resumes. It really is a shame. When we got the caravan one of my goals was to do thw nc500. Did not get to it, and now that life was upside down forgot about it... thinking about it, it is not best suited to a caravan, even if bypass the hard bits, so I guess it will have to wait for me to finish building the MH. Maybe a good thing, as will be more empty (i think you go to such a place to see wilderness, not people). I promises to leave no trace that i was there.

Menachem……..NEXT YEAR, bring caravan to Nairn…..park it on my drive and do the NC500 by car/hotel/break and bedfast. It really is bonkers north of here just now and until abroad holidays start up, it will only get worse. Emptying toilet cassettes into rivers and car parks commonplace. Not to be poo-poo’d…..

Facebook is hardly a reliable source of information but Facebook posts probably do reflect the mindset and views of the posters ... And looking at the scenes of rubbish left behind in parks, on beaches and other beauty spots when the 'rabble' was released from lock-down, I can well believe that the same mindset persists among a minority of caravaners and motor home owners - and it only takes a minority to do the reputational damage ... That said I do fancy doing the NC500 by red RAV, "hotel/break and bedfast" once the current 'hiatus' is over ...

Thank you for the invitation! I will keep it in mind. I do not think i will do it next year, as will be in the middle of the MH build, but as I well know plans can change in a blink of an eye. The caravan stays with me at least until the MH will be useable. Thank you again for the invitation!

What you don’t realize is that while you’re off touring, BK will be renting your van out as AirB&B.😂😂

Would sir like a phoaty I took of a right sphinctus in Nairn, emptying his cassette toilet down a street drain……? Informed me when I challenged him that’s what they were for, and anyway it was only pish and nae shit….? Police called……arse booted out of Nairn. All in the depths of lockdown. There may be some exaggeraton of certain circumstances, but I also witnessed them being emptied into the River Nairn. They may be an extreme minority, but having witnessed three occasions personally…….

Just looked... from my place to Nairn it is 550 miles. So that is about 11-12hours min with the caravan...probably not.

They may be an extreme minority, but having witnessed three occasions personally……. It’s not just up your way old pal….. Our politicians in their ignorant wisdom have allowed farmers to open their fields as “ Pop up camp sites”… The only thing the thick ignorant idiots overlooked was where do they empty their crap boxes… There is one of these sites the other side of Tenbury Wells and the lay-bys are the chosen places for the campers to empty solids an all…… Traffic is quite unbelievable as these small rural towns have never had to cope with an influx of people with big campers or dragging huge caravans. The dreadfully neglected the roads are literally crumbling mainly though because they’ve never been maintained or repaired…. Daughter lives in Weston Super Mare and the behaviour of some is indescribable. People crouching behind bushes because some toilets are closed or simply because there aren’t enough. That resort has never seen such numbers. Bus shelters have become toilets.. Daughters apartment is in a gated area. Folk park in numbers across the gates and simply abandon their cars. The fines seem to be no deterrent they just park and bugger off. Those living behind the gates cannot get their cars out to go to work, Police don’t want to know cos there are few or no police.

It surely is David, and it has caused much bad feeling mainly north of here on this fabled NC500 route. I am totally FOR these vehicles and previously would love to own one. Not now……and holiday season not even bliddy started yet. One visitor in Nairn…..towing a motorbike trailer…..so trailer to left, motorhome in middle, awning to right……three car spaces gone. Arse of a cooncil were warned last summer this was coming……now running aboot daft asking farmers to open up their land. Complete willies.

There certainly seems to be a problem in lack of facilities to empty toilets. And as I've been doing some truck driving recently, there are no toilets open anywhere, apart from motorway services (if there is space to park) or McDonalds ! Truck drivers are really treated badly in respect of available facilities. So one can understand, to a degree, the frustration of folk needing to empty their chemical toilet.
