Yep, I'd remembered it as something like 3+2 years too, but couldn't find any documentation (in a reasonable time) to back that up.

Looks very good but surely it will deter those who buy or have bought expensive extended warranties?

You might be a bit peeved if you've bought an extended warranty, but they won't be selling them any more surely? I can see this bringing more custom in than selling traditional "extended warranties" and the conditions that go with it. Quote from here: mag.toyota.co.uk/toyota-warranty-how-it-works/ I already have an extended warranty. Can I swap onto Relax?
Yes, you can cancel a Toyota extended warranty policy and receive a pro-rata refund, provided you haven’t made a claim. Once that is cancelled, you’ll then need to have a service to activate Relax. It may be better to wait until your next service is due! If you purchased an extended warranty through a Toyota centre, the terms and conditions for cancellation may be different.

This warranty offer makes it much more likely my next car will be a Toyota.

Looks like my RAV4 will go to Toyota for service this year 👍 Et voila...the new Toyota service department business model in full effect. Why wouldn't you?? They'll probably get the Yaris next year tbh.
