Dear friends
I m experiencing a little bit of turbo lag . Turbo will not go off up until it reaches 2000rpm. Especially when i am on an uphill. The car has new injectors and clean egr and i m using the best available diesel.
Thank you

What's the mileage of the car?
With age/mileage the blades in the turbo can wear or even start to work loose, both of which affect the turbo's efficiency. Causing lag and a drop in overall performance.

The overall performance is fanatic (two days ago i took to a speed of 140mph) Acceleration is also very good .
MPG 31
For sure could be the turbo that's just too old .

Hi Mikis……sort your present problem first before looking at “tuning chips.” Improper ones can cause severe engine damage. When problem fixed, contact member Kingo on here who works for Lindop Toyota in UK. He will sort you out with correct TUNING FULL ECU that works great on 180 engines, but mind how you go…….190,000 miles is a lot for ANY engine.

I have had the tuning chip from Lindop long time ago (i think since 2010) , I have removed it last year because i think it wasn't working any longer . I was just wondering maybe this www.racechip.eu/pedal-box/xlr.html could solve my problem. somehow

There are many symptoms of worn or sticking SCVs (Suction Control Valve) and one of them can be a lag from accelerator application to engine response.
It might be worth trying to rule that out.
The 2l diesel in 4.2 RAVs was more prone to this compared with later 2.2D 4.3 though.
