The diff lock has a habit of sticking on those which will excessively load the diff and transfer box. There should be a light and buzzer on when engaged and when disengaging you might have to wait while it exhausts the vacuum then rock the car back and too to make it drop out.

Never had much trouble rattling up to 70mph+ with the diff lock on when doing the quarter mile sprints. If it does stick on, I found slowly reversing a short distance with the steering straight worked a treat.

Anyone see that post on FB where a Rav 4s diff lock locked and spun the car around on the M1 i think it was?
