I make so secret to my Luke warm interest in the import 3 door RAV4’s, it has a mix of poor UK spec yet has extra’s as only seen on my XT-R.

Cruise control and climate control are the plus side and I like the idea of the door wind deflectors if a bit large on this example...and the 3 door doesn’t seem to suffer water dripping in on wet days .
Looking around the vehicle, wheels are not as distinctive as the solid 5 spoke UK wheels, notice no extended wheel arch flairs...for me that’s what makes the 3 door the cheeky chunky vehicle it is.
No rear fog lamp but it’s popular for imports to fit the UK panel with lamp included.....many available on eBay .
To date I’ve never seen what ever radio come with imports as they all seem to have after market units ....lots of choice to fill up the double din slot.
No rear spoiler or roof rails on most of them ...again could be purchased used if wanted over here.
On the quotes I got on insurance they cost more to cover, yet the road tax is a band or two less....so swings and round a outs.
On the mechanic side they seem very similar from a spares prospective, rear brakes are mainly drum only... which to my mind is a step back from discs all round .
What is sure bet an import will be in excellent condition on the underside ..everyone I’ve never look up on import auction sites are like new.
Engine wise, the import has the basic same engine uk 1AZ-FE, import 1AZ-FSE..note concerning E10 in fuel.
"Toyota Motors Group
Toyota:
E10 petrol is cleared for use in all Toyota European petrol models made from January 1998, excluding:
• Avensis 2.0 litre with engine 1AZ-FSE made between July 2000 and October 2008."
So may have problems with the fuel system using ethanol E10 over time 🤔
Engine’s seem to come in both 1.8 and 2.0 and both came as an auto or manual, some are 4x4 and other 2 wheel drive, you need to do your homework to ensure you are getting 4x4 if they what your buying it for 👍🏻👍🏻
