aha. I was blinded by the paintwork on mind and never crawled under it. My mistake (but it was a good price). The RAV4.2 is a funny one I think in that the Auto is noticably more economical then the manual in normal driving - strange for a basic 3 speed + OD Auto compared to 5-speed manual

No it’s a car I saw in Martley a village not to far from us, It was parked on the fellas drive with a for sale sign in the window. The chap who was with who was a chap I’ve known since we were five said he knew the seller as he maintains their gardens ( Tyrone my mate is a landscape contractor) Anyway we turned round and went back. Only gave the car a brief look over and for some reason I thought it was a manual but it’s not unfortunately it’s an auto. Cars been kept in a garage since new only the one owner. It’s immaculate and I don’t mean for it’s year it’s mint. Full service history all Toyota Worcester never had even a sniff of paint. Auctions aren’t the place to buy anymore the ridiculous buyers premiums killed auctions of most types years ago. 👍👍 some of those words sound like they could have described my RAV4 3-Door. And because of that, I only gave the car a brief look over as well .... Funny you are disappointed it is an Auto? for resale purpose the Auto is definately worth more. And for driving and economy it is better as well. The Auto commands more money because there are less of them for sale, currently 6 auto on Auto Trader and 45 odd petrol manuals but even some of them are up for almost 6k, so maybe all the late 3 doors are becoming sort after .

I would also humbly suggest that they have a very well-matched engine/box combo that makes them a pleasure to drive. As an aside I would confirm that this 4.2 is the most economical yet of our previous three autos; it'll do over 30 mpg without trying hard. 👍

It surprises me that autos are more popular than manuals. Surely there were less sold when these cars were for sale ? I like autos and have only ever driven one petrol auto and that was a 5 door and I didn’t like it at all. No low down torque... It was a long time ago mind...

I've been looking on line at a 55 plate RAV for sale
The MOT says expiry November 2020 which I assume is one thats been extended due to COVID. The seller has said they have had the exhaust fixed.
Anyone near Stourbridge .....It has been sat for a year ....so a bit far for me to run down for a look. Price is ok for age but as it was registered in Dundee, I guess it may be a bit rusty...or is it? These aren't meant to rust are they?
Did anyone go and look at this Rav for Bothy, just curious as it seems to have sold?
