Looks a bit basic I feel the one I listed above would be money well spent . I’m on my second scanner tool, first one was cheap poo and unreliable, let’s face it when you need one you want it to work properly. That's the same as mine. Works a treat both reading and erasing. 👍 That’s good you and Jase have had good results with this reader ....any pointers for Paul on how to erase a code 👍🏻

Thanks for the video Bob. I did try it yesterday but when i connected the OBD it then said there was no faults, so would it show the fault again once it's been found, and should i still be able to erase it? The EML light is still on.

Right folks i disconnected the battery earlier this morning and left it while we had brekky, went back out reconnected and the EML light was off, so went for a drive in it and all was well until it was nearly cutting out each time we stopped, but as we went along it seemed to get better until it was ticking over as normal, so hopefully it has cured itself. I also looked at the sensors and the from what i could see they look new so was they changed before we bought it but with a cheap make, would they last? Found out yesterday that they average about 100k miles so ours isn't far off at 92k?

The drive train utilises fuzzy logic so it can take a little while to completely settle down. If you re-flash the gearbox ECU, for example, you are told to drive the car for at least 20 minutes at various revs/speeds to educate the ECU. Keep an eye on it. Hopefully it wasn't anything serious. 👍

My engine has to relearn its parameters after I fitted the new battery, idle speed was very low for the first 4 miles then it picked up to its old self 👍🏻

Thanks Jim/Bob you may be right as we had the sane sort of thing when we changed the alternator on the previous Rav :TU:

Well Mrs Ps been to work and back today and said the Rav is running as normal thank gawd, but will the problem still be there even though the EML has gone off?
